Northampton Alive with Enterprise
Northampton has become an essential area for economical growth due to its central position and along with the Waterside Enterprise Zone it is drawing a great deal of national and global interest. The town turned out to be the best place to do business in the UK, according to a recent report carried by Experian. There are a numerous start up business, a high level of financial health, business turnover with a low rate of insolvencies. The town is home to 13000 small and medium sized businesses. This means that a great number of people are travelling to Northampton for short periods which increases the demand for hotels. The Enterprise Zone offers all kinds of businesses the opportunity to develop and expand as Northampton is one of the most enterprising towns of UK with low operating cost in relation to the rest of the country. There is a long list of major regeneration projects of which some have been completed, some are on the waiting list and some are undergoing development, including the Boot and Shoe Conservation area. The redeveloping of GT Hawkins and Globe Leather Works sites adds another project on the Northampton Alive with Enterprise list and it would enrich and draw the much needed attention to the Boot and Shoe Quarter.
